These two lovely ladies (and I think you can figure out which one is which) are out in full view but it is amazing how many people don't even notice that there are chickens in Bed-Sty. Well, I got a call one night from my friend telling me that craziness ensued in Brooklyn..... Ethel had gone 'free range' and escaped the coup. The best was the comment from one of the neighbors upon seeing Ethel spread her wings and go for a stroll, was, and I quote, "uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh Chickens." Well a tree might grow in Brooklyn, but so do chickens.

New Neighbors
One of the highlights of Brooklyn is the diversity. From the newspaper lady, Fatima (I miss you...come back) to the stoop action in the summer. BBQ's, loud music, and life happening all around you. Every once in a while, you forget to unfocus your eyes and look around. When you do, you notice a lot. My friend, who has been staying with me for a bit (which is a whole other blog issue dedicated to the scariest thing imaginable in New York....BED BUGS!!) were talking about what we see on the way to work and we both agreed on one thing. We loved the guitar dudes jamming blues by the subway, the African ladies hair salon, but hands down, the most unique and cool addition to the neighborhood were two ladies, that we lovingly call "Ethel and Lucy".

MTA Employee or Google Genius
Well today started off just right. Do you ever have one of those days when you know it could be a completely crappy day, but you just choose to laugh it off. Well for me today, at 6:45am, heading to the subway, this guy says to me " hey lady, are you working the booth?" Well I kind of gave him a look of "what are you talking about," said no and then walked off. As I walked down the stairs, I look down at what I was wearing and just about peed myself laughing so hard.
You be the judge, MTA Employee or Google Genius
